Our Meetups have been tremendous fun, and as always, it is great to meet and talk Harry Potter among other things! Our next Meetup will be at Red Robin at Metrotown again since it is central and reasonably priced, and the restaurant itself was very happy to have us there. (Please note I finally managed to get Meetup to acknowledge Red Robin's address, but it insists Red Robin at Metrotown is in Vancouver, not Burnaby. The fact is, this Red Robin is in Burnaby.) To cover the costs of Meetup site's fees, I ask for those who attend get togethers to make a donation to a little cow piggy bank, aka the "Cash Cow" (which I continually forget to bring to meetings so I've also set up something with PayPal to make up for it), I will be bringing with me to allow for anonymous donations. Just what you can afford. No one will be counting. The minimum is listed as $2.00 but don't worry about that. See you all there! Teri

The Vancouver Harry Potter MeetUp Group is arranging for a second shopping expedition to explore this store and find items that might be used in costumes and/or collections (patches, wands, pins, etc.). And they have chocolate frogs!

We has a Halloween Party! Join a bunch of Lower Mainland meetup groups at the La Fontana for a Halloween Party! There will be scary video showings, a costume competition with prizes and some food as well. Be warned, a costume is a must or else John (owner of La Fontana) will dress you up his style. I don't want to think of what that will be (I'll even give him a few ideas...all of them embarassing). Best of all, you'll get to meet and mingle with a whole bunch of fans! There will be people from the Vampire group, Dr. Who fandom, the Browncoats, the Stargaters, Star Trek Vancouver, Babylon 5 Vancouver and the Harry Potter and Grey Havens grooups to join in the fun, so we're guaranteed to have the best mix of fans across any dimension! It's gonna be quite the party!

There will be a showing of Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince will be showing at the Hollywood Theatre between October 16 and October 21, 2009. We are getting a group together to see the movie (again). The movie starts at 7:30 p.m. but I suggest people get there earlier to get tickets. We will meet in the lobby area prior to the movie at 7:00 p.m. The address of the theatre is: 3123 W Broadway
