Southern Book 7 Release Party

Even though a web page is swiftly on it's way, I've just created a myspace page for the event...www.myspace.com/perfectus2007.

And I've named our event- Perfectus 2007 (the latin word for finished). So check it out and see if you're interested.

My school, The University of Houston (Go Coogs!) is the location for Perfectus 2007. However, when it rains it pours and now the Houston Children's Museum is interested in the event. Personally I'm going with whoever will give us the most free reign. The University of Houston is willing to offer us their performance hall (for the bands and podcasts) as well as the basement of the hall as well as the space out front to set up other vendors and also space in the park which is adjacent to the hall. This location is so very awesome because right across the lot is a Hilton hotel!!!! Perfect for our out of town guests. My little dream in which people would hear the name "Harry Potter" and offer their services for free has been shattered, however. So I'm now in search of sponsors, both on campus and off. If you have any ideas or know of anyone who can help, please let me know. Now...how do I bring in the books....thats the next task.

Also, if you would like to participate in this event as a Vendor, Performer or Sponsor you are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting as well. We are expecting a crowd of 2000 plus and this would be a great opportunity to get the word out about your company or talent.

This sounds amazingly COOL! I have thought about trying to put together some sort of Diagon Alley style shindig, but you are obviously way more organized or have more time than me! I hope it goes really well. Maybe you can post some of your successes and things you wish you had done differently after the event is over. I figure that there will be two more opportunities for me to organize HP parties in the future. :)

It's coming!!!! As Perfectus 2007 draws closer the excitement builds. Our band, Philosopherock will be awesome, the free food from Niko Nikos and Hungry's Cafe is sure to be delicious and all the trivia contests, debates, costume contests and discussions are going to be tons of fun. I can't wait to see ya'll at the Biggest Potter Party in the South- Perfectus 2007!!!
