Eleyne Austen Sharp here. Some of you know me as the author of "Haunted Newport" and "Pirate Fever!" But did you know that I'm also "potty" about Potter?!
That's why I'm excited to announce my new Harry Potter course for The Learning Connection in Providence, Rhode Island. Think of it as a chance to dress in your wizard robes and talk about Harry for two solid hours. (Fair warning--if you haven't read "The Deathly Hallows", I suggest you get on with it because there will definitely be SPOILERS at this event!) Afterwards, the night will still be young and maybe we can meet up somewhere in Providence, hopefully away from prying Muggle eyes. In the meantime, here is a shriek peek at "Wild About Harry: The Potter Phenomenon", scheduled for Friday, November 2 (only two days after Halloween!) at 6:30PM-8:30PM:Are you a Potterhead? Can you tell a Hippogriff from a Crumple-Horned Snorkack? Unless you've been struck by a Confundus Charm, you know that author J.K. Rowling cast a great spell with her magical book series about a boy wizard, conjuring a worldwide reading phenomenon. But Harry Potter isn't just for young readers. Millions of adults love Harry, too! Did you know there are Harry Potter for Adults websites, Harry Potter conferences and "wizard rock" bands like Rhode Island's own Draco and The Malfoys? If you're wild about Harry, grab your Floo Powder and join us in the Common Room for some magical treats and butterbeer as we reminisce about the books, the movies and You-Know-Who.
